Kickboxing has roots that can be traced back to Asia almost 2,000 years ago. Although it was originally developed as a style of combat, the fitness community has adapted the format into an exciting and challenging workout option. By combining elements of boxing, martial arts, and aerobics, a kickboxing routine can provide complete physical conditioning and toning. A traditional class will include an appropriate warm up and cool down surrounding an intense session of knee strikes, blocks, kicks, and punches which elevate the heart rate and help tone and strengthen the entire body.
